A ribbon cutting for the new 317th Air Force Squadron Recruiting Office was held on Thursday, November 14, hosted by the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

The Air Force now joins the Armed Forces Careers Center located at 7828 Richmond Highway.

"This Air Force recruiting station will inspire, engage and recruit many young people in the community and provide them with opportunities to learn and succeed," said Paul Dean, MVS Chamber Board of Directors.

Delegate Paul Krizek told of his father's career in the Air Force and how he was inspired by their travels around the world and his father's service. His father, Colonel Gene Krizek was buried with honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
