RPSV's South County Recovery and Drop-In Center (SCRDIC), located at 8794 S. Sacramento Drive in
Alexandria offers free programs and services for adults with mental health, substance use, and
homelessness issues in your community. SCRDIC is currently hosting a Basic Needs Drive to support
homeless adults. The adults we serve are typically not associated with area shelters and live in very
precarious situations (e.g., under bridges, in the woods, and on cement).
SCRDIC, which has served S. County Alexandria since 2011, provides a variety of key services including
meals, referrals to housing, health care, jobs, and individual and group peer support. It also provides
access to showers and laundry services for those we serve because cleanliness is a basic human
dignity. We are reaching out to the community for donations of laundry detergent and basic hygiene
items (e.g., soap, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, talcum powder, toothbrushes/paste, and more) those we
serve can use to help them feel clean and fresh.
Individuals and businesses can drop off supplies at SCRDIC on Mondays and Fridays from 3-7 pm and
Saturdays and Sundays from 12-7 pm. Your donations are tax-deductible.
SCRDIC is one of RPSV's five Recovery Centers across Northern Virginia where adults with mental
health, substance use, and homelessness issues can receive free support to recover and move forward
in life. Since its inception, more than 100,000 Northern Virginians have done just that!
RPSV's programs are free, no referral or insurance is needed. Just drop by or join us online. Thanks for
caring for those without a home in your community!
