The Koinonia Foundation is proud to announce that they will be partnering with Saint Martin de Porres Episcopal Church and are thrilled to be moving into a new building at 6107 Franconia Rd on the corner of Beulah and Franconia! They will be in the large brick building adjacent to the historic Mount Olivet Chapel. This new centrally-located property will allow Koinonia to become a more visible and influential part of our community.
As the needs of our local community continues to rise, Koinonia has become incredibly aware that they needed a much larger space to better serve the families that are still struggling to become self-sustaining. With the increased space, they will be able to expand operations and serve more of our neighbors. This new space will allow them to begin new programs and work with new populations. A bigger space also means that clients will have ready access to private interview rooms and spacious browsing of the clothing closet. Koinonia will also expand their food pantry to offer more fresh and refrigerated items, offering even more healthy options with our commercially-sized kitchen.
Executive Director Judy Davis says, "That is why we hope that you will help us cover some of the costs of transitioning and growing our work. We have already started the work of transforming the space so that it fits our needs, but we still have a lot to do, and a larger space means higher costs!
"If you are one of our faithful individual donors, would you be able to make a one-time or recurring donation to support our effort? Please consider donating online by going to www.koinoniacares.org.
"If you are unable to donate at this time, there are many other ways you can still support us! You can advocate for us by sharing our mission with your congregation or inviting a Koinonia representative to share. You can advocate for us by sharing our mission with a family member or friend or mentioning us on your social media. Or you could host a drive in your neighborhood for food, new socks and underwear, or toys.
"In times like these, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are. On behalf of all of us at the Koinonia Foundation, thank you for being part of our community. We are excited for what God has in store! Thank you for all you do to help our community!"
