Holly Dougherty

Holly Dougherty has served as the Chamber's CEO for more than twenty years. During this time she has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chamber office while supporting the Board of Directors.

 

Holly has lived in the Franconia area for the past 40 years where she has raised her family. Her six children are the joy of her life.

 

She has served on several community boards and advisory committees and is currently a member of the Franconia District Land Use Committee, the Mount Vernon SSPA Task Force, the Fairfax County Community Consolidated Funding Advisory Committee (CFAC), and the Fairfax County Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan Task Force.

 

Before joining the Chamber, Holly was the Special Assistant for Cabinet Affairs to the US Secretary of Energy; a Special Assisant for Public Affairs to the US Secretary of HUD; and a staff member for US Senator Orrin Hatch.

 

Holly is originally from Utah were she graduated from Brigham Young University.

Kathryn Falk

Ms. Carmen Fierro
Carmen Fierro A Hospitality Veteran, and turnaround expert holds more than four decades experience. Carmen joined Quality Inn Mt Vernon February 1995 in her role as General Manager Carmen oversees day-to-day operations, including management of the the hotels executive team, and the departmental employees. Ms. Fierro has overseen openings of new facilities and full renovation of established locations; Carmen reorganized and redirected sales and marketing carrying out a new vision for the Ramada Inn of Erie Pa then served as coordinator and directed the opening of the Sleep Inn Fredericksburg VA prior to her current role at the Quality Inn where she implemented and establishes new policies, and procedures to turn the hotel around to a Gold Award Winner.  Carmen Holds many of Ramadas Worldwide achievement awards for excellence, and certificates of training though Choice Hotels University courses including HOST certification.     

Carmen works daily with the staff of the Quality Inn Mount Vernon feels it’s important to help her employees to succeed in their hospitality  career she passes on daily, valuable information to her employees so that they can achieve all that they can be.  Carmen started her career in food service area, and quickly moved on to the lodging side of the operation. She has worked every department in a hotel for at least 1 year from washing dishes to washing bathtubs She has often said “I will never ask my employees to do something I have not done my self first”

Carmen knows the General Manager of a hotel is an important position. It is her job to take steps to ensure the hotel runs profitably during peak seasons as well as during the times when the occupancy is low, and while being commented to her guest, and to training her employees; by creating examples of leadership, and customer satisfaction, she never loses  focus of her main job which is profitability.
